Welcome to The HUB Singapore
The HUB Singapore is a home for people who want to use entrepreneurial ideas to create sustainable impact.
We are curators of spaces, community and content for inspiration, action and collaboration.
People taking collaborative action for a better world.
We create environments that inspire, connect and enable people to realize enterprising ideas for sustainable impact.
Trust, courage, collaboration.
What does The HUB provide?
The HUB Singapore provides a community of like-minded entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs to connect, mingle, and have coffee with. You'll find coworking space, curated events, learning opportunities, mentors, access to funding, and a collaborative platform to source co-founders and partnerships. While we are not a typical incubator, we combine the best of an incubator, an innovation lab, a membership club, a collaborative working environment, a buzzing café, and the comforts of home.
We are the only space to bring together people making change regardless of industry. Members work at The HUB Singapore, attend and produce events, access funding and mentorship, source co-conspirators, find social networks, and launch companies.
Members enjoy working at the intersection of fields, are collaborative, and they work for purpose. They may be social entrepreneurs, web developers, impact investors, creatives, students, policy makers, sustainability ventures, professionals-- anyone making a solution for a better world.
A thriving global network
The HUB is a global community with over 40 HUBs, 6000 members, across 5 continents. We are proud to be the first HUB that opened in Asia. We're now glad to be joined by HUB Seoul, HUB Tokyo, HUB Kyoto and more upcoming Asian HUBs!
The HUB Singapore members will have access to the global community through an individual HUBnet account. You will be given priority entrance in iconic events, workshops, collaboration labs and talks. Not to mention reaching out to the like-minded across the world!
Whether in beautiful Johannesburg, historic Vienna, or entrepreneurial San Francisco - you also gain access to the HUBs in other cities. A HUB Singapore membership allows you to check in at any of our fellow HUBs for one working day for free each quarter. There's even a special HUB Passport deal for international Hubbers to affordably base themselves at other HUBs during travel.
Have a global home, with The HUB Singapore as your base for future expansion.
A hosted environment
We're not just a spot for you to hire as office or event space. We are a bona fide community, made tastier by a secret sauce: HUB Hosts who are part curator, part friendly ear, part troubleshooter, part networking guru, part office manager-- and 100% friendly.
HUB Hosts are passionate about social enterprise and want to make a positive change in the world. At The HUB Singapore, hosts are also core team members, fully vested into shaping up your environment and strategizing on ways to inspire you and make you feel at home.
Some issues you can approach a HUB Host on:
- Connecting to another member or resource
- Starting a HUB Club at The HUB Singapore, be it a salsa class or product prototyping teams
- Ideas to co-create the space for optimal enjoyment
- Looking out for and greeting your important guests
- Planned serendipity : "Chance favors the prepared mind"- Louis Pasteur
- Flows of knowledge instead of stocks of knowledge
- Peer-to-peer (horizontal) learning
- Innovations come from the periphery and inbetween disciplines
- We pursue passions but are business smart
- We celebrate conversations, connections and collaboration
- We are comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation of what truly matters in the long haul
- We promote openness
- Cause and effect are not closely related in time and space
- This is far beyond running a usual business - we are here to create a movement and redefine culture.
A leaf from the book of Peter Senge
A Strategist of the Century, Peter Senge's The Fifth Discipline was identified as one of the seminal books of the last 75 years by the Harvard Business Review in 1997.
The HUB Singapore team is always excited to examine and learn from the work of great thinkers such as Senge. We are always recalibrating our practices to serve and collaborate with the community in a better way.
As an organization, The HUB wants to be a learning organization:
"... organizations where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning to see the whole together." (Senge 1900: 3)
The HUB Singapore's team members are more than people merely trying to do a job. We aspire towards self-actualization:
"When you ask people about what it is like being part of a great team, what is most striking is the meaningfulness of the experience. People talk about being part of something larger than themselves, of being connected, of being generative. It become quite clear that, for many, their experiences as part of truly great teams stand out as singular periods of life lived to the fullest. Some spend the rest of their lives looking for ways to recapture that spirit." (Senge 1990: 13)
